The recordings then appear, for example, in your Google timeline, complete with the location, longitude and latitude. Incorporation into a map is also very easy with the stored geodata, so that you can, for example, retrace a trip later. But even if you don't want to do anything with it for the time being, it doesn't hurt to save pictures with GPS coordinates. To activate this function, first open the camera app on your android and go to the settings. There you will find the option "Save location".

EnlargeIn the Google Photos app you will find the geodata - if saved - in the settings under "Info".

To display the geodata, open an image in the Google Photos app and tap on the three dots in the top right corner and then on "Info". At the bottom you should see the location as well as the latitude and longitude of the location as well as a map section. In order to load an image including geodata onto the PC (preferably via https://photos.google.com), click on the image and select the three items "Download". The picture ends up in the download folder. Now open the properties of the picture with the right mouse button and switch to the "Details" tab. Under the penultimate point "GPS" you will find the geodata of the image (longitude and latitude).

Tip: In the smartphone age everyone becomes a photographer: Thanks to the pocket cameras, series of pictures from a beach holiday, culinary creations in a fine restaurant or selfies are only a matter of seconds. We introduce you to the best photo editing apps for Android.
