Liverpool sign two young talents

Just before Brexit went into effect, Liverpool signed a talent from Celta Vigo. With that, the Reds Manchester United snatched the player from under the nose.

At the beginning of the year, the two young defenders Stefan Bajcetic and Calum Scanlon are part of the Liverpool Academy in Kirkby. Bajcetic comes for around £ 224,000 from Spanish club Celta Vigo, while Scanlon comes from championship club Birmingham City for £ 400,000.

Both players will be part of the U18 team and part of the club's strategy to bring great talent to Merseyside early on. With the transfer of Stefan Bajcetic, the reigning champions grabbed a significant talent from under the nose of a direct competitor.

As of 2021, clubs in Great Britain will no longer be able to sign players under the age of 18 from EU countries due to new restrictions. The transfers are also special in that Liverpool rarely invest a lot of money in external talent to bring them to England.

Official confirmation from Liverpool FC is pending.
