4. Communication: Exchange with others gives energy
For humans as a social being, interpersonal contacts are vital. There is a basic rule for this: presence. Communication starts with myself. I have to check myself in contact with others. There may be people who are not good for me. Because they're pessimistic or sucking me out. If so, I have to be brave and distance myself. Some contacts - for example at work - can of course not be chosen. But overall, it's about being a little more selective - especially in areas where you have the opportunity to do so. Anyone who has to get along with unpleasant colleagues in their professional life can find a balance in their private environment and particularly enjoy being with loved family members or friends. With their help you get back the energy that you might lose in your job.
Presence is also crucial when dealing with other people. It is the basis for empathy, compassion, understanding. I have to be willing to really get involved with another person and be genuinely interested in them when I spend time with them. Notice how few people really can listen! They are so busy with themselves and their problems that they do not have an open ear for the other person. In order to check how one behaves towards others, the diary can help again: How present am I in dealing with others? Who do I feel comfortable with? Do I remember what my girlfriend told me last night? Here you could also ask directly: Do I make you feel like you are with you when I talk to you? Do you have the impression that I am interested in what you are telling me? By being vigilant yourself, you train your presence. Make it clear to yourself: those closest to you are always those in whose presence you are close to yourself.
TIP: It is best to say in advance if you have little time to come to a meeting - but then concentrate exclusively on the person you are talking to. In this way you avoid hurts and misunderstandings and do not torment yourself with a guilty conscience.

The posture is an expression of our inner state. A person who is tense will also assume a tense posture. A person who is depressed will bring his body into a depressed position. A person who is optimistic and vital will go through life upright and openly. "It is the spirit that builds the body," says Schiller of his Wallenstein. The muscle tone determines how we move and forces us into the position that our mental attitude dictates: upright when we have just succeeded; tense with stress and exertion; depressed when we no longer know what to do. Observe yourself and correct yourself - and if necessary - your body.

In a state of exhaustion you can no longer feel yourself, you are neither sensitive to yourself nor to others. That is not satmya, because that is not how one can hold the strings of one's life in one's hand. Again, a diary can help to make you aware of whether you are getting enough sleep and what should be changed in order to be more rested. Basically, if you lie down in bed tired and then fall asleep within a few minutes, it is a sign of inner balance - especially if you sleep through the night.
Of course there can always be exceptions, but the majority of nights should be like this. This is a sign of inner balance. For those who do not sleep well, the following questions can help initiate change: How do I feel during the day? Can I concentrate on my work? Do I feel fresh and clear in my head? Or something dull? Do I respond to the people around me? Or do I not notice certain things (anymore)? Do I wake up often at night? Sleep says a lot about our mental state. Something is bothering someone who has difficulty sleeping.
TIP: The first step to changing persistent fatigue is to sleep for a week until you wake up on your own and feel fresh. You should go to bed as early as possible during this time. For the first three days, you will likely feel even more tired than you did before. From the third day on, however, the feeling of being rested finally sets in.
7. The trace of life: whoever listens to one another finds out his way
"There is a place that you have to fill that no one else can fill, and there is something for you to do that no one else can do," said Plato. The sentence can be applied to our body and mind. When every cell in an organism fulfills its task - i.e. the small intestine cell does the digestive work, the heart cell regularly contracts and relaxes again, the kidney cell detoxifies the body - the whole thing always benefits. And when the whole is healthy, all the parts that make up the whole are fine.
The secret of nature is that this whole is contained in each of its parts. In the nucleus of every cell lies the entire same genetic material - the identical DNA, i.e. the entire organism. If every cell in its uniqueness maintains a living connection to the whole, it fulfills its specific, individual task for the benefit of the entire organism. This principle also applies to people who know their destiny. It serves the common good because it moves in the life track intended for it. To have found the individual trace of life is the highest form of being able to listen to oneself. You can only find yourself through inner awareness. Such a person remains true to himself, does not build his life on the opinion of others, does not harm himself or others, but respects, values and loves life as the most valuable treasure.
