Millie Bobby Brown won an Oscar

Millie Bobby Brown: Hollywood prodigy and all-round talent

Who is Millie Bobby Brown?

She was born in Malaga on February 19, 2004 as the third of four children. At the age of four, her family moved back from the southern province of Andalusia to the British homeland of their parents Kelly and Robert, to Bournemouth. Millie discovered her passion for acting at an early age, took part in workshops and attended an acting school. To advance their career, the Browns decided in 2011 to sell their house in England and move to Orlando, Florida, in the USA. The then 7-year-old got hold of a number of roles, including that of the young Alice in two episodes of "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" and some guest appearances in "Grey's Anatomy" and "Navy CIS". The big breakthrough does not happen for the time being, which almost drives the family to ruin. "There were times when we didn't know whether we could buy food or pay the rent. It was very tough. There were a lot of tears," Millie told Bobby Brown, according to the Daily Mail. The family then decides to move back to the UK. Millie doesn't want to give up her dream yet - and from then on she lives with her aunt.

The big turning point in her young life

Then comes the turning point in her young life: Millie is invited to audition for the lead role Eleven in the Netflix series "Stranger Things". Due to the enormous pressure that was on her to successfully master the audition, she suffered a breakdown during the casting. BUT: In the end she gets the lead role - on condition that she shave her hair off, which she does without hesitation. That is the start of a really great career.
